Batumi in 2026: Summer May Be Ending, but the City Isn’t Slowing Down 🌊

2026 has been another exciting year for Batumi and the Adjara region. From a lively summer season and international events to new developments and growing interest in the city, Batumi continues to strengthen its position as one of the Black Sea’s most dynamic destinations.

And while summer is coming to an end, September certainly doesn’t mean the end of the season.

September is actually a wonderful time to experience Batumi. The summer crowds begin to ease, but the city remains lively, the seaside atmosphere continues, and Adjara’s mountains and nature become even more inviting.

There is plenty happening this month too.

🎬 Batumi International Art-House Film Festival (BIAFF) returns from 19–26 September, celebrating its 20th edition and bringing international and Georgian cinema, filmmakers and special screenings to the city.

🎻 Night Serenades continues until 20 September, while Batumi’s September calendar also includes concerts, theatre performances and cultural events.

⛸️ Sports fans can look forward to the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating, taking place in Batumi on 24–26 September.

🦅 September is also one of the best months for birdwatching in Adjara. The region lies along an important migration corridor, with the peak migration period falling around September and early October.
