Georgia and China Strengthen Economic Cooperation in 2026

image

Georgia and China are entering a new phase of economic partnership, creating new opportunities for trade, investment, tourism, and infrastructure development.

In June 2026, Georgia and China announced the elevation of their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, reflecting the growing importance of cooperation between the two countries. The agreement aims to deepen collaboration in trade, investment, logistics, infrastructure, education, tourism, and cultural exchange.

Trade between the two countries continued to grow, supported by updates to the Free Trade Agreement and stronger cooperation in logistics, technology, and investment. Georgia's strategic location along the Middle Corridor is attracting increased interest from Chinese businesses looking to connect Asian and European markets.

Tourism is also on the rise, with more Chinese visitors discovering Georgia and destinations such as Batumi. Improved connectivity and growing business ties are expected to support long-term economic growth.

For Batumi, these developments could mean greater international visibility, increased foreign investment, and higher demand for residential and tourism-related real estate.

As Georgia strengthens its role as a bridge between Europe and Asia, cooperation with China is becoming an important driver of future economic development.
